Luiseno.... Vid by 40ftbox

This is another video that I picked up where my video was being shared@...
Vid by 40ftbox was the producer of this video. In this video you can see how the men stand in a straight line along with the youngster try to interpret what the men are doing during the song. This is how we all learned before…. by doing what the others do. Traditions run deep.. Though sometimes there is no one to show us what to do… Some of us instinctively become what was lost. Some of these guys have the gift and I believe that they should be raised up high for everyone to see how we used to be, keep it going we need more to see.

Singing The Birds Palm Springs 06

This is another example of what a California Native American gathering looks like. This event was located in Palm Springs California, hosted by Agua Caliente band of Cahuilla Indians and the Agua Caliente cultural museum. This video was not taken by me, it was shot by the father of a person singing on stage. Please note that there are no drums or persons with fancy regalia at these events. Enjoy
I’m not sure who was in this video, but I know its Cahuilla bird songs that are being sung… I didn’t shoot the video, but I would like to share with you, please enjoy .

Bird Singers

We have another video with Wayne Nelson available for you to view, just so you know I did not shoot this video either, I just found it were my video was being played.
When you go to a Native Americans gathering or festival, you might be lucky to see what Mr. Nelson is all about when he sings the birds. We can expect Mr. Nelson to be keeping up with traditions that our ancestors once used to follow. He will be probably one of the most important people later on when it is his time to be the elder and keeper of traditional Indian bird songs... If he hasn’t already achieved that status already, I would be surprised. Enjoy the video
