Beautiful Baskets of our California Native people., And Artifacts of Meso American peoples....New Growth at the San Bernardino County Museum.

Todays Blog entry is about our trip to see the exhibition of southern California Native American Baskets, Called the "Generations of Symbols". Displayed now through October 17th 2010 according to their website. http://www.sbcounty.gov/museum/rss/article.asp?client=sbmuseum&id=20100304091536

Since our last visit with Alvino and Pat Siva around 2008... the SBCM has been updated with not only displays of Native Cultural artifacts of local Tribes... but a abundant collection of Meso American art that I was Blown Away with... It's just being set up for permanent display, but like I have mentioned... the museum is going through a growth phase so it's a little ruff around the edges in some sections of the museum, but the artifacts are there for enjoyment!

Along with the the new growth at the SBCM... there will be a Traditional Southern California Indian Basket Making two day workshop with Lorene Sisquoc , A very great teacher of our native people out here....I will mention more about her workshop in the Next entry...

Please go and see the Beautiful Native American art displays at the San Bernardino county Museum ! It's well worth the trip and bring the Children!

When I visited today with my wife... It was Comforting listening to Ernest Siva playing the flute and Singing to Weh-leco.... in the area where the Baskets are...Wonderful, nice touch!
